The ICT & Multimedia in Yumbe closes in Style

We finally concluded the 5 day ICT and Multimedia content training of 110 youths in Yumbe district yesterday on 14th June 2024. It was a spectacular event and presided over by Woman MP of Yumbe District, Hon. Avako Melsa Naima Gule. In her address, Hon. Avako Melsa Naima Gule highlighted the significance of harnessing social connections and applying the acquired digital skills in practical contexts. She underscored that such methodologies are pivotal in combating unemployment. Furthermore, MP Gule pledged her commitment to support similar forthcoming training sessions, advising the youth to maintain humility and abstain from misusing social platforms to criticize politicians, as they might necessitate their support in the future.

Other esteemed guests gave speeches that resonated in the minds of the young people. Yumbe district RDC Tumwesigye John Bosco encouraged the participants to exhibit creativity and launch economic initiatives that can yield financial returns. He encouraged the youths to participate in government programs to acquire capital for their businesses.

LC5 Chairman Asiku Abdul Mutalib appealed to the youths to leverage technology for financial gain by utilizing the knowledge imparted during the training.

Eng. Adrogu William, a UCC representative also urged the youth to optimize their smartphones to enhance their livelihoods and encouraged female youth to actively engage in such programs to avoid lagging behind in the digital era.

The event was also graced by Chuna Moses Kapolon the CAO Yumbe district, Azabo Mahad Kassimu the District Youth Yumbe, Dr. Aluonzi Buremi the Director IUIU Arua Campus, and delegates from Mediavision Academy.

Similar trainings have been successfully conducted in Pakwach, Nebbi, and Arua districts in the West Nile region, provoking transformative testimonies from beneficiaries. Robin Ayikobua from Arua City expressed profound gratitude for the mentorship received, highlighting the significant impact on self-realization and personal growth. “I can't repay all the knowledge you have given me but I pray that may almighty God give you more fundings to reach out to many Youths in this country who are not informed about the usage of ICT & MULTIMEDIA SKILLS,” Gerald Salim from Yumbe district.  Such testimonials underscore the tangible outcomes and positive influence of these training programs in shaping brighter futures for the youth.
