MEDIAVISION ACADEMY PARTNERS WITH UCC TO BUILD CAPACITY OF FILMMAKERS IN NORTHERN UGANDA

In the vibrant landscape of Uganda's film industry, a groundbreaking partnership between Mediavision Academy, a renowned film school, and the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) are reshaping the narrative and empowering young creatives in different regions of the country. This strategic alliance aims to elevate the skills and capabilities of filmmakers through a series of transformative initiatives.
UCC urshered in Regional Film Competition to celebrate and showcase exceptional cinematic works from diverse regions across Uganda. In Northern Uganda, 35 filmmakers participating in the 2nd edition of this competition were selected from Acholi, Lango, Arua and Karamoja sub regions to gain invaluable insights and expertise through an intensive 4 day training workshop conducted by Mediavision Academy. The training took place from 04th to 8th March 2024 at Moroto Resort in Moroto Town.

Through this collaborative endeavor, Mediavision Academy and
UCC are not only nurturing individual talents but also catalyzing the overall
development of the film industry in the country. By championing local content
creation and providing filmmakers with the tools to thrive in a competitive
landscape, this partnership is sowing the seeds for a vibrant and sustainable
cinematic ecosystem.

At the glamorous award night of the Regional Film competition held on Friday 8th March 2024 at hotel African in Moroto, participants received certificates of attendance awarded by the chairman LCV Moroto Mr. Andrew Keem Napaja.
