On Friday, August 23rd, the atmosphere at our campus in Nsambya was buzzing with excitement as we prepared for the day. The venue was decorated with photos that reflected the academy's journey over the past ten years.
The event was graced by several notable figures from KCCA Makindye division, British High Commission, Venzuela Embassy, Iran Embassy, KWDT, UCC, Cinema Ug. and Uganda Film Club. The highlight was undoubtedly the guest of Honor Meddy Kaggwa, Acting Director for Industry Affairs and Content at the Uganda, who represented the Executive Director of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). His presence underscored the importance of the film industry in Uganda and the role of institutions like Mediavision Academy in shaping its future. I gave opening remarks in which I narrated our 10 years film and television training journey and our vision for the next 10 years, which included the establishment of Simbula film Hub. This hub is intended to act as a creative space where film students and budding filmmakers can access resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. It will provide students with hands-on experience, access to state-of-the-art equipment, and the chance to collaborate on projects.
