Prof. Sr. Dominic Dipio handing over o dummy check to one of the winners at UCC headquaters in Bugolobi It was a moment of excitement as winners of Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)'s 2nd edition Content Development Support Program were revealed yesterday at UCC headquarters in Bugolobi.  The growth of the Ugandan film sector  is affected by several factors financing being one of them.  Due to inadequate financing, majority filmmakers are producing poor quality films using money from their own savings.  To try and reverse this trend, UCC. in 2021 intervened with the Content Development Support Program.  The progam aims at raising the quality and quantity  of film,  create jobs and grow audiences.  In the first edition 700m was secured from which 4 film projects were awarded grants of which 2 have been premiered.  This year the fund has gone up to 1 billion UGX from which 14 film projects have won grants today.
