Mentoring the New Generation of Photographers
I am over joyed to see one of my female students living her dream. On Sunday 30th November I joined Jovia Kirabo with a team of other 10 film students on a photoshoot in Makindye Kizungu zone. Jovia Kirabo planned the shoot to execute her final school project. This is a task we give to each student at Mediavision Academy . Jovia joined the academy last year to pursue her photography dream. "I want to become the best woman photographer in Uganda" she stated on her first day. Well here she is doing what she has always dreamed of. She booked a couple deeply in love, to express their feelings in the African style. Her theme was love and African tradition washer motif. Other students worked to give her all the support she needed. She mobilised an assistant photographer, make up artist, costume designer, production assistant, driver and 2 guys to capture the action behind the scenes.
